These language additions build on our fall launch of Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian writing support. Our latest language additions support grammar and error correction for now, and will support fluency, clarity, and tone suggestions soon. All corrections are available in real time for whichever language you’re writing in so long as you have the Grammarly browser extension and/or Desktop app installed.
No annoying setup. No settings to toggle. Just write, and Grammarly will be there.
If you regularly move between languages, Grammarly also offers in-line translation across 19 languages so you can draft, edit, and switch languages without losing your flow or quality. Simply highlight your text, click the blue sidebar, and select which language you want to translate into.
What’s coming next: Clarity and tone suggestions and reading assistance
We will continue to iterate and refine our models during this Beta period to ensure that every language has the same level of quality people rely on in English. And while real-time grammar and spelling corrections are foundational, they’re only part of what makes people love and rely on Grammarly.
In the near future, we’ll be bringing advanced clarity, tone, and fluency suggestions to all 17 of these newly supported languages. That means the blue underlines that help you sharpen your sentences, adjust your delivery, and communicate with greater impact will extend to Turkish, Hindi, Korean, and every other language mentioned above.
This spring, we’ll extend translation support to text you’re reading, not just writing. Users who have the Grammarly browser extension installed will be able to highlight text as they read and instantly translate it into one of 19 different languages, helping build comprehension without forcing you to switch tabs and lose focus.
