Only those authorized to access data critical to their work may do so. Access is granted via specific, audited permissions, and access to data requires review and approval by the responsible managers. For example, if you encounter a problem with your account that can only be fixed by reviewing your text, a select group working directly on that task may access your document with your permission. Also, if you send a document to our expert writing service, our writing experts will read the content you submit to make edits that are offered by this service. You own what you write.

Grammarly’s algorithms analyze your text, writing behavior, usage data, and other information to provide writing suggestions, insights, and usage tips. Any user can request to view all data associated with their account. When tailored assistance features are on, Grammarly will process and store data and associate it with your account to improve our product’s suggestions for you. You can opt out of tailored assistance at any time by visiting the Feature customization page. Upon opting out of a feature, all data stored for that feature to personalize your Grammarly experience will be deleted.

Please note that if you save a document in the Grammarly Editor, we’ll store it until you delete the document or your Grammarly account. You can access all of your saved documents when you’re logged in to your Grammarly account at app.grammarly.com.
