Noun and verb

Is there some reason Grammarly has trouble with this noun-verb combination? It said it was correct.

See example:

John and Barbara is married.

I'm not sure why the Editor did not catch this.  But, I can assure you that I'll let the team know and we'll do our best to fix it.

You are correct, of course, that 'John and Barbara is married.', is incorrect.
