You did well, dumping the stock.

You did well, dumping the stock.

What I would like to know is the structure and meaning of the sentence, so the meaning is "you did well because you dumped the stock or is there an omission of prepositions such as "in" or "by" before "dumping"? Or how can I understand the sentence? Thank you so much as usual.
