Problems with conditional sentences

Could someone give me an idea of how I should revise this sentence? Thank you!

See example:

However, if I was to research and be willing to say and prove that Genetically Modified Organisms resulted in, for example, harmful and even deadly consequences, I think that I would be fighting a hard fight with my life at risk for both America and the world.

The key here is that you cannot include the 'I think' in the conditional ('If I was. . .I would').  Consider removing it.

Also, 'with my life' sounds funny.  Try place in a comma after 'fight' and replace it with 'risking my life for both. . .'
