Punction marks typed on my wps documents do not show as p on the copied version pasted to Grammarly.

When I paste a document from wps, the punctuation marks--in particular, the dash--does not show up on Grammarly check the way it is typed on the original copy.  The dash must be inserted into my first draft using the "special characters" button.  This is annoying because Grammarly depicts intended dash as a fraction, thereby recognising the intended punctuation (the dash) as an error.  What can be done to change this frustrating clitch?
