Object/Direct Object Ambiguity

Is "me" in "tell me!" an indirect object or is it technically ambiguous? If so, are the same rules true for a verbs like "show" in "show me!"?

I ask because the command, "show me!" appears more ambiguous than the command "tell me!" because you can technically "show me (something)" or "show me (to someone)," whereas you can't really "tell me (to someone)," or can you?
