too wordy

How would I make this sentence shorter, but still get these points accross to the reader?

See example:

The person conducting the research must communicate to the prospective participants how their participation in the research will benefit others to improve comprehension of their involvement and demonstrate that this research is needed while emphasizing that the researcher would not knowingly harm possible participants.

Try something like this:

The researcher must persuade the prospective participants that the research would benefit people and the researcher would not knowingly harm the participants.
