Law Review Question




I'm trying to edit an article for my University Law Review. This sentence is clearly to long, how would I shorten it correctly?


Some of its supporters, recognizing this, have sought to introduce degrees of flexibility by means of various moderating devices such as ignoring the application intentions of the drafter’s  or allowing the Court some discretion to depart from the original meaning of the text where it is consistent with the original idea  or with the original intentions  behind the Constitution.
