How can I make this sentence accurate?

See example:

Hi Tina,

I must admit that I struggled a bit with this sentence, as I understand the importance of what you are trying to say. Following are two choices; I think that I like the second one the best. I hope this will be helpful to you!

1) The support of the student's family members will demonstrate the importance of his/her educational choices.

2) Family involvement is integral to the student's progress, as he/she will reap the benefits of their continual support.

All my best,
