Which one is the correct preposition?

My applications got lost ...... the mail. (in, with, by)

They rushed through ... the questions. (at, by, with)

in- unless it was lost among the rest of your mail when you brought it in--that would be with-.


None for the second sentence since you used another preposition already:

"They rushed through the questions."

No need for another preposition.
