using "among" in a sentence

if a sentence begins with "among", then does the subject that comes after that dependent phrase have to be from whatever that "among" may refer to? for example, is it "among the many candies at the store, I like to eat chocolates." OR "among the many candies at the store, the chocolates are my favorite"? which one is correct? thank you!
