Modal verb use errors

I have a problem with modal verb use errors in the following example: “I was full of energies, but not too sure of myself, due to the first assignment choosing a book which I could not finished before the opening day.”

You have a few errors here with noun forms and punctuation.  Regarding your modal verb error, you should use the infinitive without 'to' after a modal verb.  For example,  "I could not finish. . ."
