Help, not sure how to write this sentence.

Four days after the fire happened two arson detectives arrived on the scene.

I think it's ok although I personally would say: Four days after the fire happened, two detectives from the arson unit (or department) arrived on the scene.

It took four days after the fire occurred, for two arson detectives to arrive on the scene.

If you do it that way, Shaila, you cannot have a comma, and you also change the meaning. The original sentence is neutral - it merely states a fact. In your sentence, it suggests that the detectives should have arrived earlier. A Clil To ClimbNov 17 '11 at 21:07
