editorial letter


Can I start an editorial letter with the following line:

'I would be highly obliged if you can spare some time from your busy schedule to my letter."

I think you were writing to the editor. In that case it is a formal letter. I suggest you to begin it with the issue you want the editor to pay attention. 


First state the issue discuss and elaborate it well and finally request the editor to publish an article or a report.
