What expenses are coded towards/toward Employee Benefits?

Towards includes an extra, unnecessary letter -- "s." Again, usage varies by country. My preference is always a shorter version: toward.

Ah-ha. You have discovered the vulnerabilty in Grammarly, which is that it cannot determine 'usage.'  At the same time, you want to use a diferent word altogether. See below.

toward vs. towards

In American English, the preferred form is toward. Towards is prevalent in British English.

Usage: Toward implies movement. It should not be used when the sentence would be better served by to or against.

Your sentence:

What expenses are coded towards/toward Employee Benefits?

What expenses are coded to Employee Benefits?

What expenses are coded against Employee Benefits?
