Grammar about tenses

Does grammarly make correction for wrong tenses ?

Last time, I typed a sentence:  I am eating a cake yesterday.  But grammarly did not make correction for that wrong sentence.  It should make correction as : I ate a cake yesterday.

Grammarly should identify incorrect tenses, but it will not correct them for you.  The suggestions are aimed at teaching the user about their mistakes, so that he can fix the error.
