Adjectives between nouns and verbs


I am wondering which is the best way to set up this question. Is it okay to put an adjective between the pronoun and verb? Which sentence would be correct or can it be written either way?    Quickly, he jumped out and slammed the door.     He quickly jumped out and slammed the door.
