Sallys dog is dead.

If "Sally" is the first name, then the correct sentence should read: "Sally's dog is dead."

If "Sallys" is the last name, then the sentence should read: "Sallys' dog is dead."

I am still learning grammar; I just have the courage to post the possible answers.
