Passive Voice Use

How could this sentence be re-phrased correctly?

See example:

The analysis was returned to the students for validation.

The passive voice is formed when you change the object of the sentence, 'the analysis', to the subject.  In the active voice, the subject of the sentence and the actor doing the verb are the same noun.  In this case, the actor is probably the professor.  Accordingly, we should write:

'The professor returned the analysis to the students for validation."

I hope this helps.
