How do i fix this sentence. Having a hard time with this
There might be some exceptions for which torture may have to take place under certain circumstances, meaning doing what you must, depending on the severity of the crime, McCain says, or is McCain contradicting his own words?
There may be exceptions that would allow torture under some circumstances. McCain says that this means doing what you must <to do something>, according to the severity of the crime. Is McCain contradicting himself?
Basically, I've broken up this sentence into smaller, more manageable sentences. Often when we try to put too many ideas into one sentence, the meaning and understanding get completely lost. It's always OK to use simpler sentences, especially when a longer sentence is easily misunderstood.
