Capitalization At Beginning Of Sentence
The first word of a sentence is always capitalized, regardless of the word.
The cat is sleeping.
Where did I put that book?
Don’t walk on the grass.
Green apples are my favourite kind of apple.
Hey! It’s great to see you! How have you been?
This capitalization rule applies to quotes as well, even if they’re within a sentence.
Michael asked, “Where would I find the information?”
Philosophers like to ask questions such as “Who are we?” and “Why are we here?”
Cathy said, “I’m off to class now,” but she just poured herself another cup of coffee and sat down to read the newspaper.
