Finding trust and love is not always easy to make
( New Soul by Yael Naim)
See I'm a young soul in this very strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout what is true and fake
But why all this hate? try to communicate
Finding trust and love is not always easy to make
I was wondering if the verb "make" modifies "Finding trust and love" behind and it means "produce" but I have never seen "make doing- structures" so can we consider it as poetic license?
Thank you so much as always and have a good day.

...Try to communicate finding trust
and love is not always easy to make.
The comma after trust breaks this up so that 'love' stands by itself as the subject of 'is', and , rather that 'trust and love' being a compound subject of 'is'.
Still, grammatical analysis of poetry is not the most productive endeavor. It can mean one thing to you, one thing to me, and something different to the author. It is, however, an interesting exercise.

It sounds a little off to me. Are you going to find it or make it? It seems to me that 'finding trust and love' is the object of the infinitive 'to make'. This sentence might not do in prose, but writing poetry carries with it a lot of leeway with grammar and clarity. Let''s see what others say.

Thank you and I totally agree with you. Then, "Love is not always easy to make" makes sense? I know the meaning of "make love" but I do not think it means it there., or is there another meaning like it might mean "share love" or something?
