missing verb/
i do not know how to fix this sentence
See example:
I respect these qualities in the river as I would any good friend.

When writing your questions, or anything else, stay in the habit of capitalizing and punctuating properly. There is no missing verb here. It is 'respect'. The only way I would change this is to write 'of the river', and make friend's possesive. You are comparing the qualities of the river with the qualities of a friends.
I respect these qualities of the river as I would any good friend's.
