profusely means?

My dictionary says: 

Profuse: adj. (esp. of something offered or discharged) exuberantly plentiful; abundant : I offered my profuse apologies.

Profusely is the adverb form. That is, instead of modifying a noun, it modifies a verb: She greeted us profusely.
