How would I fix this sentence?
I need help fixing this sentence
They don't want everything done for them but rather enjoy the guided help of an adult.
They don't want every thing to be done for them, but rather they enjoy the guided help of an adult.
(1) everything = all; every thing = each thing
(2) to be -- you needed the rest of the verb (passive voice) to make this more clear.
(3) Comma before you start a new clause.
(4) Because the first clause if a bit long and can be confusing, it is a good idea to restate the subject, 'they'.
