is the word cliche correct in the sentece?
The cliché, “Never Give Up-Failure is not an option”, became my motto.

Don't forget to use spaces either side of your en dash, or else use a closed em dash:
Never give up – failure is not an option.
Never give up—failure is not an option.
But never use a hyphen in this way.
