When something makes your heart work faster you say that it 'rises' or 'accelerates' the heartbeat?

Or both are correct?

When talking about and increase in the heart rate, you can say it a number of ways.

For example:

"When she started to run,

- her heart rate increased rapidly"

- her heart rate accelerated."

- her heart rate rose quickly."
