The 13- year-old Brazilian pled guilty and was tried and punished as an adult.
1) Brazil is the country. Brazilian is what we can a person from that country.
2) There are two acceptable options for conjugating the verb 'to plead' in the past tense -- 'pleaded' and 'pled'. I chose the one that, for me, is more natural.
