I groped my way in the dark to the kitchen to  find either the matches or the emergency light, but  it was almost like a maze and could never find anything that I was  looking for. When I turned back,  I tripped over and hurt my knee.  I slowly got up and stepped forward.  To my horror, I heard a hullabaloo outside the kitchen window.  My breath caught in my chest while my tongue felt as dry as cotton.  I stood there motionless letting  my imagination run wild. I viewed myself lying unconscious on  the ground.  A pang of fear ran through  me, and I rushed towards the main door with long strides.
