Passive Voice
How do I turn this into a non passive statement?
See example:
Canada, not having those same militaristic advantages is forced to reconsider such challenges and approach them from a different angle.

On a side note, I would suggest using "military" instead of "militaristic" "Militaristic" is an adjective meaning a policy of aggresive military preparedness. What you have said is equivalent to "policy advantages".
