I wonder if we say "my son is 1 years old" or "my son is one year old". Could you please explain for me why? Thanks
You can't have plural "years" if there is only one. He is one year old. You may notice that people tend to use months until a child is two. That's not a rule, it is just more common (at least where I live) to say he is twelve months old.
