Proper Noun?


In the sentence below, is it true that the word "Moron" functions as a proper noun and therefore is capitalized?


   "Watch where you're going, Moron!"

Yes, it is true.  When you are directly talking to someone, whatever you call them is the name you have given them.  Names are proper nouns.  That is why we also write:

While taking a walk with my mom, I said, "Watch where you are going, Mom!"
