Usage of Commas ?

Can you please explain the rules of using commas in sentences, since I see the usage is sometimes redundant at some places in the sentences?

There are many (many!) rules about using commas.  These are already written out in many (very many!) places - both online and in grammar books.  If you have a specific sentence in mind, feel free to post it and we'll help you understand why a comma is (or is not) used in that specific instance.  Otherwise, I don't have plans to post an entire section of a book on punctuation.  The Grammarly Handbook (see link at bottom of the page) has almost forty pages on the comma.
