2nd sentence: since I put "there", do I have to put "to the well"

Once, on His way to Galilee, Jesus walked through Samaria and stopped at Jacob’s well to rest.

There, in the heat of the day, a Samaritan woman came to the well to draw water, and Jesus asked her for a drink.

Unless there is a something between these sentences, like a paragraph break, the reader should be able to understand that there means the well. It is at the end of the previous sentence, so I think you are okay.
