passive voice


The Ec50 values were calculated by a Probiy analysis.

I do not known why it gives wrong on the were calculated?

Passive voice is when the subject of a sentence receives the action of a verb.  In your sentence, 'values' is the subject.  Passive voice is grammatically correct, but active voice is usually preferred.

I think you mean 'probit analysis'.  I don't think 'probit' is capitalized, but I recommend checking this.

To change this to active voice, you must introduce a subject to perform the calculating.  I'll use 'we'.


We calculated the EC50 values using a probit analysis.
