I only use snack as a noun.  Is the verb snacking correct usage?

Snack can be used as a verb. 


They snack on tea and biscuits every afternoon.


Snacking is a gerund.  A gerund is a verb that has -ing added to it, and it acts as a noun.


His snacking has led to weight gain.
