This is the best winter of my life. VS. This has been the best winter of my life.

 

Although the tense is different, I think that the intended meaning is the same. What do you think?

They are very close, but there is a subtle difference.

This is the best winter of my life.

This would usually be said during the winter.

 

This has been the best winter of my life.

This would be said toward the end or immediately after the season.
