Is "their" growing up together right? Should "high school" be captilized?

Susan wrote a tribute to Charlotte, sharing memories of their growing up together, and sent it to their high school classmates.

I would delete the first "their" in this sentence.  The reader can assume that memories of growing up together means Susan and Charlotte.
