What you have is called a comma splice. This is two independent clauses joined with only a comma. There are three ways to make this sentence correct.

Add a conjunction.

Use a semicolon instead of a comma.

Make this two sentences.

I prefer the first option.

I would make the first 'RN' singular, put an article before U.S., and just use 'high'.

 

RN demand is high, and the shortage of RNs in all hospitals in the U.S. is expected to increase in the next decade.

RN demand is high; the shortage of RNs in all hospitals in the U.S. is expected to increase in the next decade.

RN demand is high.  The shortage of RNs in all hospitals in the U.S. is expected to increase in the next decade.
