some help for my Graduation project

Can someone explane me what the following sentence says, because i cant understand

(its for my graduation project)

''A series of apertures in a disk that rotated in the image plane of a microscope system were used to produce a raster scan of a specimen with approximately 5mm. A hardwired analyser extracted nuclear size and density information; cells were then classified as normal or malignant usig these parameters.''

Some of it makes sense, but some of it doesn't.  I don't know if this is something that you wrote, or if it is something you read that you don't understand.

There is a disk with holes in it.

The disk is in the image plane... If the image is horizontal, like a photograph on a table, then the disk is horizontal with a vertical axis of rotation, like a record player. I hope you know what a record player is; they are old technology.

... to produce a raster scan of a specimen...  As the disk spins, a reading is taken through an aperture.  I can only assume that these discrete samplings were later combined.

...with approximately 5mm.  I don't know what this means.

A hardwired analyser extracted nuclear size and density information;  Hardwired means that it was connected by wires to whatever was used to receive the data through the rotating disk.  The analyser used these data to determine if the cells were normal or malignant.

... cells were then classified as normal or malignant usig these parameters.  This doesn't make sense because no parameters have been specified, only a description of the equipment.

I don't know if this helps you, but it's the best I can do with what you have provided. I suggest you speak with your instructor to get more information.

I'm glad I refreshed the page before I did exactly what you just did, Lewis! Whew! This seems like a question for a science teacher. I think the parts that don't make complete sense are likely specific to the context. I also recommend that Maria talks to her instructor. If this is for a graduation project, it is best to get advice from someone who understands the topic completely.
