How can I explain whats wrong with these sentences?


A: What were you doing last night around 7 o’clock?
B:  I ate dinner with my family.


I think know the answer but not sure on how to explain.

Maybe I'm sleepy, but I don't see anything wrong with either one. You are missing an apostrophe in "what's". It is a contraction of "what is".
