Help with passive voice

How can I make this sound more active?

See example:

A sentence is not more or less active or passive.  It's either one or the other. In active voice, the subject performs the action of the verb. In passive voice, the subject receives this action.  To change your sentence to active voice, you will need to introduce a new subject to perform the action of diagnosis.

The doctor diagnosed my grandfather with prostate cancer, who later passed away.
