Sentence structure when using internet slang

Sorry for this ridiculous question; but, I would like to know which is right. Which would be grammatically correct: "I don't give a eff", or, "I don't give an eff"?

Using 'a' or 'an' is based on the beginning sound of the following word. 'Eff' starts with the short 'e', a vowel, so you would use 'an'.

If a word starts with a vowel, but has a consonant sound, use 'a'.  A unique gift...

If a word starts with a consonant, but has a vowel sound, use 'an'.  An honorable peace...
