Use of further or furthermore to constraint a topic

0

I have a sentence establishes a topic and then sets out to show that there is a sutopic that is more restrictive. I believe that using 'further' would be appropriate but I am not sure.

Example (this is very similar to the sentence):
The issue at hand is whether red in general, and further red-orange is an appropriate color for this project.

Thoughts?
