Do you use upper or lower case after a closing quotation mark that ends with a question mark?

1) "Oh, Uncle why did you hit the dog ?" she asked.

2) "Oh, Uncle why did you hit the dog? She asked.

Is the first correct or the second.

That is should you use a lower case or upper case after a Q mark followed by closing quotation marks

Thanks, as that is what I thought was the correct answer. But when I ran my text through the grammarly check it suggested to use an upper case. I was amazed that it suggested the wrong punctuation, it made me forget my own grammar!
