Is the 2nd sentence correct? Is it clear?

We need His love to help us look past human flaws and inconsistencies.  We need His love to help us overlook our own offences and forgive those who have hurt us.

Note: The first sentence is talking about the flaws of other people.  The second sentence is talking about me (or us) becoming offended by someone and how we need God's love to help us overlook offences.  I added "our own offences" to make it more clear, but is it redundant?

Both sentences look fine to me, Susan. If you are in the US, then spell offense with an s, not a c.
