Use of article "the"

0

I would like to know your opinions regarding the use of an article in the following sencence:

  • On a monthly basis, Mrs. Smith sends a wire transfer from THE account 01234 at Arlington Bank to THE account 56789 at Newport Securities.

I personally prefer not to use "the" because I feel it is unnecessary to use it in this sentence.  Suggestions or comments are welcome.

Thanks.

I don't see a problem with leaving out 'the'.

In your example, "the" is used as a definite article that signifies specific accounts at Arlington Bank and Newport Securities.  The noun is a definite count noun and, in my opinion, requires the article. If it were a noncount noun, the article can be used or omitted.
