Wow! I never thought that I would learn such important things in just one sentence! It just seemed a simple sentence but many things were wrong in that. Thank you so much to Lewis Neidhardt. Additional thanks for extending the emotional courtesy. I just got an unwanted divorce. I was addressing that sentence to my son. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear that, Ash. The subject of your sentence is 'doors', so you need to use the plural 'have'. I would also use 'to' rather than 'on'. 'On' sounds like you got your leg caught in the door as it was closing.

 

The doors of that house have been closed to me now!
