Preposition "past" and the present tense.

Is it correct to use the preposition "past" with the present tense?

Lola walks past the theater.

Is that correct?

Yes, that's correct! The prepositional definition of "past" ("She walks past the theater") is separate from the adjectival definition ("past tense").
